PRESS RELEASE, 9th MAY 2019 : Husain Law To Sue The Boeing Company On Behalf Of Jonathan Seex, Ceo Of Tamarind Group Of Companies

NAIROBI, KENYA - 9th May 2019. United States-based aviation law and personal injury lawyers Nomaan Husain of Husain Law + Associates, Omar Khawaja of The Law Offices of Omar Khawaja and Floyd Wisner of Wisner Law, have been retained by the family of Jonathan Seex to file a federal wrongful-death suit following the crash of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302.

The lawsuit will be filed on behalf of the personal representatives of Jonathan Seex who was a passenger on ET302 which crashed shortly after take-off from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on 10 March 2019 near Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The complaint will allege that Boeing failed to properly inform pilots about the dangers and risks presented by its new Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System ("MCAS") software, and angle of attack sensors.

On 4th April, Boeing's CEO Dennis Muilenburg admitted that the MCAS software system played a role in the ET302 crash. In addition, Boeing has admitted that an alert for the angle of attack sensors was "not activated as intended for some customers."

Boeing's failure to properly inform pilots of a defect in the MAX 8's flight control system and angle of attack sensors left pilots without the knowledge or ability to restore manual control and prevent the two crashes. The aircraft's flight manual also did not contain information on how to control the aircraft in the event of a MCAS malfunction. "It's our responsibility to eliminate this risk. We own it and we know how to do it," Muilenburg said.

Jonathan Seex was well-loved by his family and friends and had taken the helm of the Tamarind Group of Companies. His wife, Nadage Dubois-Seex described him as "an incredible father to our three beautiful children and |I will always cherish the 25 years I spent together with him as my husband and soulmate. Our family has lost its shining knight and the world has lost a brilliant entrepreneur."

Nish Lakhani, Jonathan Seex's best friend, stated that "the pain of losing Jonathan is compounded by the fact that his death was completely avoidable and due to Boeing's greed."

US Attorney Nomaan Husain stated, "Once again corporate greed has placed profits over safety with tragic consequences for the public. We have learned that Boeing relied on a single sensor that had been previously flagged in over 200 incident reports submitted to the FAA. Our goal with these lawsuits is to obtain answers for our grieving clients and hold those accountable for creating this tragedy."

US Attorney Omar Khawaja stated, "We believe the evidence will show Boeing knew of the MCAS failures and did nothing to warn the airlines or public."
